Who’s on the move: November 8, 2021

Ontario Northland

The Ontario government has appointed community leader Alan Spacek as chairman of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) and Robert J. (RJ) Falconi as vice-chairman. The appointments took effect October 28, 2021. A respected entrepreneur, Spacek was mayor of Kapuskasing from 2006 to 2018 and former president of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities. He has served as chairman of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation since September 2019. RJ Falconi was born and raised in North Bay and is the managing director of RayleeValleyGroup. A commissioner of the ONTC since January 2020 and chairman of its governance committee, he is also chairman of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority’s Board and a member of the Tarion Warranty Corporation’s Board, the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters’ Ontario Advisory Board and the York Durham Heritage Railway Board.

Andres Diez

Swissport

Andres Diez has joined Swissport as director global commercial. Diez has over 20 years of management experience in business development and in financial planning for logistics businesses such as DHL, and most recently, GXO Logistics. In these roles, he focused on deploying strategies that delivered high levels of profitable growth from global, enterprise-level customers. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree and an MBA from Florida International University (FIU), and recently completed a Master of Real Estate Finance degree from Georgetown University.

Transportation Insight Holding Company

Transportation Insight Holding Company has hired Amit Prasad as chief data science officer. He will lead the company’s Data Science Center of Excellence, which will focus on the advancement of predictive and prescriptive supply chain solutions and data-driven insights. Prasad brings more than  15 years of experience in supply chain management, data science, and technology innovation. Before joining TI Holdco, he served as vice-president, supply chain and data science for another large logistics provider. He holds a master’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India.
