Bison acquires Britton Transport

WINNIPEG: Transportation and supply chain company Bison Transport Inc is acquiring Grand Forks, North Dakota-based Britton Transport Inc. Britton is a transport provider offering van, flat bed, step deck and bulk hopper truckload services, mainly in the US.

“The acquisition of Britton is an important first step in Bison Transport’s US expansion strategy,” said Bison’s president and CEO Don Streuber. “Britton is a well-run operation and has been a strong US partner carrier of ours over the last five years, handling a growing portion of our US freight. This transaction will provide Bison Transport a US base of operations in close proximity to one of our key border crossings in the North Central US.”

The transaction is subject to the usual closing conditions and is expected to be completed in May. Financial details concerning the deal have not been disclosed.

“Bison is a key customer and an important partner of Britton’s and this transaction represents a natural evolution of that relationship,” said Britton Transport founder Dave Britton. “We are very pleased to join the Bison family.”
