Kinaxis partners with uOttawa to drive supply chain innovation

Canadian supply chain technology company Kinaxis has announced a five-year partnership with the University of Ottawa to co-innovate on advanced supply chain applications.

The collaboration will focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization and next-generation user interfaces. Kinaxis will work with uOttawa researchers and graduate students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees to advance innovation in the sector.

“We are so lucky to be headquartered in Ottawa, which has such a world-class tech community as well as prestigious universities like uOttawa that are excited to collaborate with industry on such important projects,” said Gelu Ticala, chief technology officer at Kinaxis. “We are thrilled to partner with uOttawa, and are looking forward to all the learning, innovation and positive impacts that can come out of this, for the students, the university and for supply chains.”

Dr. Julie St-Pierre, vice-president of research and innovation at uOttawa, emphasized the partnership’s impact on education and global supply chains. “By working closely with Kinaxis, we are not only providing our students with invaluable hands-on industry experience but also contributing to the development of solutions that will have a lasting impact on global supply chains.”

This initiative builds on the Kinaxis academic program, launched in 2020, which has already reached over 12,000 students.

Kinaxis, headquartered in Ottawa, has led supply chain technology advancements for decades, from pioneering in-memory material requirements planning in the 1980s to adopting SaaS models ahead of its peers.
