Jungheinrich and Nico Rosberg will join forces to advocate electric mobility and sustainability. The 2016 Formula 1 World Champion will represent the company as a brand ambassador.

Nico Rosberg is not only a motorsports icon – as an investor and a visionary, he shares Jungheinrich’s passion for climate-smart, sustainable technology”, explained Lars Brzoska, chairman of the board of management of Jungheinrich AG.

Rosberg was born in 1985 in Wiesbaden, Germany, the son of Formula One World Champion Keke Rosberg. Nico raced in F1 for eleven years and claimed the title of World Champion in 2016. Since his retirement from Formula One, he has embarked on a career as a sustainability entrepreneur and investor in green technologies and mobility start-ups.

Based in Monaco, his team manages a large number of projects with the support of a dedicated team of international experts in Monaco, Great Britain and Germany. Rosberg has invested in numerous successful start-ups such as Lilium, Volocopter, What3Words, Tier and Formula E.

In 2018, Rosberg was recognized for his commitment to sustainable innovation with the “GreenTec Entrepreneur of the Year” environmental award. A year later, he founded the Greentech Festival, a global platform for green technologies.

“We need new visions and smart technologies for our planet. This means driving electrification and decarbonization forward in all areas of our economy – specifically in mobility,” Rosberg said.

“I’m taking the driver’s seat with Jungheinrich in the race to e-mobility”.

Ten years ago, Jungheinrich was the first material handling equipment manufacturer in the world to launch a series-produced truck with lithium-ion technology.

“Our aspiration to create sustainable value unites us with Nico Rosberg“, Brzoska added.

“Nico gives a face to our dedication and our work. More than that, we want to develop ideas together and work on concrete solutions and applications for electrification solutions, energy efficiency and sustainability to demonstrate what is possible in the warehouse of the future. Together with our new brand ambassador, we will make this commitment to our customers and the public even more central to our work”.

Jungheinrich, founded in 1953, with headquarters in Hamburg, is represented in 40 countries with its own direct sales companies, as well as in around 80 further countries through partner companies. It employs 18,000 people worldwide and generated consolidated sales of € 3.81 billion in 2020.
