Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. has acquired Fleet Logistics’s Digital Platform. The purchase will support Expeditors’s online LTL shipping platform, Koho (gokoho.com), and aligns with its strategy and focus on digital solutions. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Max Lock, Fleet’s founder and CEO will join Expeditors.
Schneider has collaborated with Blue Yonder on a new carrier marketplace within the Blue Yonder transportation management solution. Schneider provides carriers and shippers near real-time matching of price and capacity, along with tracking, that is connected to – and made available on – Blue Yonder’s Luminate Platform. It combines data from both internal and external sources and uses both artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Trimble and Kuebix have beefed up their Community Load Match platform. Kuebix is a Trimble company; part of the transportation sector. Shippers now have access to better matching and maps, while carriers get direct access to the 20,000 carriers that belong to the community. Kuebix integrates with Trimble’s TMW.Suite and TruckMate carrier transportation management systems (TMS).
Lineage Logistics, LLC will acquire Henningsen Cold Storage Co. The acquisition adds 14 facilities across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Pennsylvania, North Dakota and Oklahoma. Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed. Henningsen Cold Storage Co., which was founded in 1923 by Waldemar Henningsen, Sr., originally operated under the name “Northwestern Ice & Cold Storage Inc.,” and is a fifth-generation family business. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to customary closing conditions.
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has rolled out CargoWise‘s transportation management system across its global air and sea freight operations. The TMS will standardize systems and databases and allow for more efficient resource usage. Following the completion of a pilot phase, Hellmann will implement CargoWise across 42 countries including the U.S., Australia, Germany, the U.K., India, South Korea, South Africa and Hong Kong.
