Thoro unveils CoreFlex autonomy platform at MODEX 2026

Industrial automation company Thoro has introduced a new modular autonomy platform, CoreFlex, at the MODEX 2026 supply chain and logistics trade show.

The company says the infrastructure-free system is designed to support multiple types of industrial vehicles and improve autonomous navigation, pallet handling and obstacle detection. CoreFlex is equipped with 3D cameras from Orbbec and integrates sensors, autonomy computing and plug-and-play interfaces within a unified software and cloud platform.

Thoro says the system is intended to help original equipment manufacturers accelerate time to market, reduce costs and scale a single autonomy solution across different robot types.

“When sensor performance is exceptional, the software fully delivers on its design intent. We commit to providing OEMs worldwide with safe, scalable, and easy-to-use industrial autonomy solutions,” said Patrick Mondi, CEO of Thoro. “Orbbec’s superior hardware and software capabilities give us the confidence to scale applications, and we are excited to expand into new vehicle types and deployment scenarios.”

The platform uses Orbbec’s Gemini 336 stereo 3D camera, which the companies say enables precise depth perception and reliable performance in complex environments, including varying lighting conditions and dynamic warehouse settings.

“CoreFlex demonstrates the tremendous potential of modular autonomous systems. The chip-level depth sensing capability of Orbbec enables CoreFlex to achieve stable and efficient autonomous operations even in complex warehouse environments. We look forward to accelerating the industry’s shift toward intelligent, automated operations together,” said Brad Suessmith, robotics sales manager at Orbbec.

Thoro and Orbbec say they also plan to release four new autonomous mobile robots next year, powered by the same camera technology, targeting cleaning and material handling applications across multiple industries.
