Descartes expands 3PL tools with Extensiv acquisition

Descartes Systems Group has acquired Extensiv, a California‑based provider of warehouse management and fulfillment software for third‑party logistics providers. Descartes paid about US$120 million in cash for the company.

Descartes says the acquisition expands its warehouse and inventory management capabilities and strengthens its position in the 3PL and ecommerce fulfillment market. Extensiv’s software manages inventory, orders, B2B and B2C fulfillment, and billing across sales channels, ecommerce platforms, marketplaces and carriers. The company also provides AI tools for operational insights and reduced manual work.

“3PLs are under constant pressure to fulfill faster, scale flexibly, and support the evolving needs of modern brands,” said Mikel Richardson, GM, ecommerce operations at Descartes. “Extensiv strengthens that position by adding more participants, more contextually rich operational data and fulfillment intelligence to the Descartes Global Logistics Network.”

Descartes says the acquisition builds on its purchase of Tai Software on August 24, 2026, which added AI‑powered transportation management tools for freight brokers.
