Amazon is expanding its Prime delivery service to merchants selling through their own websites in the U.S.
The company said Wednesday that new and existing merchants using its Multichannel Fulfillment service can add fast, free Prime delivery to their websites at no additional cost beyond standard fulfillment fees.
Amazon said the offering is part of Amazon Supply Chain Services, which provides businesses with access to the company’s freight, distribution, fulfillment and parcel-shipping network.
The company said more than 40 per cent of eligible orders from early merchant adopters have shipped with Prime delivery on average.
Amazon is also introducing a preferred pricing program that can reduce fulfillment fees by 15 to 25 per cent for the first six months.
Merchants can add Prime delivery through the Amazon MCF and Buy with Prime app for Shopify, with additional integration options planned through Amazon’s Selling Partner API and other partners.
