CPKC adds 14 rail-served industrial development sites across North America

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) says it has certified 14 new rail-served industrial development sites across North America as part of a strategy to expand commercial growth along its network.

The railway said the sites are located across six U.S. states, three Canadian provinces and two Mexican states, adding more than 6,600 acres of land available for immediate development by manufacturers, logistics operators and other supply chain partners.

The additions expand the company’s Site Ready Program and are part of CPKC’s Room to Grow strategy.

“Our Site Ready Program supports customers with efficient industrial solutions and drives economic growth continent-wide,” said John Brooks, CPKC executive vice-president and chief marketing officer. “Each certified location is designed to streamline development, accelerate timelines and create new value for both business and communities through unparalleled rail connectivity.”

CPKC said the sites are pre-certified for rail service and located near major markets, ports and distribution hubs to support logistics operations. The company added that it provides support ranging from site selection to ongoing rail operations.

The railway said the program aims to help businesses develop new facilities more quickly while reducing operational risk and lead times.

The sites were certified in partnership with engineering and construction firm Burns & McDonnell.

With the new additions, CPKC said it now has 22 Site Ready locations across its Canada, U.S. and Mexico network.
