CPKC reaches tentative agreement with locomotive engineers union

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has reached a tentative five-year collective agreement with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) covering approximately 250 train and engine employees on the southern portion of the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern railway network.

According to the company, the agreement includes wage increases and more flexible work rules for employees operating trains in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. The tentative deal remains subject to ratification by union members.

“We are very pleased to have reached this latest tentative collective agreement benefiting more of our railroaders in the United States,” said Keith Creel, president and chief executive officer of CPKC.

The company said the agreement was reached through collective bargaining and will support operations across its North American rail network if approved by members.
