Who’s on the move: March 26, 2018

Jessica McDonald will be serving as president and CEO of Canada Post on an interim basis. The appointment will start Monday April 2, 2018, following the planned departure of president and CEO, Deepak Chopra, announced last August. A comprehensive and open process to find a new, permanent Canada Post President and CEO is well under way. McDonald was appointed chair of the Canada Post board of directors in December 2017. She has extensive experience in senior public sector management from a career spanning more than 25 years. Most recently, she served as president and CEO of BC Hydro. Before that, she held many senior positions in the British Columbia government, including head of the BC Public Service.

Ontario has appointed Ron Kelusky as the province’s new chief prevention 0fficer (CPO). Previously Kelusky was the president and CEO of the Public Services Health and Safety Association (PSHSA) and was responsible for health and safety solutions for Ontario’s healthcare, education, government and First Nations sectors. Before joining PSHSA Kelusky had been with the Canadian Red Cross, as director general and the national executive lead for health programs. Before that he was president of GestureTek Health, a health care technology startup focused on the development and introduction of leading edge virtual reality medical technology into global health markets.

The annual election to the board of directors of the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) resulted in the addition of four new directors and the return of three directors for the two-year term of 2018-2019.  The four new directors on the RPA Board are: Andrae Kirkland,senior analyst, craft integration and reverse logistics process improvement, Anheuser-Busch InBev; Brandon D’Emidio, director, marketing & product management, CHEP; Paul Pederson, vice-president, protein and dairy supply chain and food safety, Polymer Logistics; Michael Wasson, vice-president, supply chain and operations, Tosca. The three directors renewing their term on the board are: John McCurdy, vice-president, commercial development, DS Smith; Dan Lafond, national sales director, Rehrig Pacific; David Kalan, vice-president, marketing and business development, RM2. In addition, Morten Bielefeldt, senior vice-president sales and service, Brüel Systems, was appointed to fill a vacant seat. Wasson will also assume the role of secretary-treasurer for the association, joining returning chairman of the Board Norm Kukuk, of ORBIS Corporation; vice-chairman Rick Sasse, of TriEnda; immediate past chair Hillary Femal of IFCO Systems; and RPA president and CEO Tim Debus as members of the executive committee.
