The national program, now in its 18^th year, annually recognizes best-in-class organizations across all sizes and sectors that foster high performance corporate cultures that help sustain a competitive advantage.The award is based on rigid criteria and a lengthy review process conducted by a board of governors comprising CEOs and senior HR leaders from across Canada.

As one of only 10 Canadian organizations awarded in the mid-market category this year, SCI was recognized for making a commitment to a four-year cultural transformation to become more of a people-centric organization. This included the development of robust programs in people development and talent management, as well as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) initiatives with substantial employee involvement.

Drone Delivery Canada

Drone Delivery Canada Corp. has received an Ontario Innovation Showcase pitch competition award in recognition of its disruptive drone delivery solution and the impact it can have on healthcare, particularly during a pandemic. This award comes following a competition on October 21, 2021, as part of the Ontario Innovation Showcase, delivered by Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) and supported by the Ontario Together Fund. DDC expects to apply the $50,000 received to further commercial deployment of its drone delivery solution.

Nikolas P. Tsakos

Dr. Nikolas P. Tsakos, founder, president and CEO of Tsakos Energy Navigation has been inducted into the International Maritime Hall of Fame in recognition of his visionary contributions to the maritime industry. The Board of the Maritime Association of the Port of New York/New Jersey, which instituted the Hall of Fame in 1994, recently conferred the honour on Tsakos at a ceremony in New York on October 5, 2021, marking the 27th annual International Maritime Hall of Fame Awards in the presence of hundreds of top-level industry representatives. TEN, founded in 1993 and celebrating this year 28 years as a public company, is one of the first and most established public shipping companies in the world.
