Polaris launches first Community Impact Day to support food banks

Polaris Transportation Group will hold its first Community Impact Day on September 23, a company-wide effort to support food banks in Ontario and Quebec. The event brings together the CEO, leadership team, employees and volunteers to address food insecurity in the communities where the company operates.

The company says its Community Care Unit fleet will leave from Polaris’ Mississauga headquarters and travel to 10 communities. The units will purchase and deliver essential food items to food banks, shelters and social service organizations.

Polaris says Community Impact Day builds on its Community Care Unit program, launched in 2023. Since then, the CCU has transported and donated more than 50,000 pounds of food to food banks, shelters, soup kitchens and other organizations in Ontario and the United States.

The company has also provided transportation, volunteer support and logistics expertise to groups including Daily Bread Food Bank, Food4Kids Mississauga, Fred Victor and Ronald McDonald House Toronto.
