Emergent Cold Latin America
Emergent Cold Latin America has been recognized by the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) as the largest refrigerated warehousing and logistics provider in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the sixth largest provider in the world. These designations were determined by total capacity of temperature-controlled space operated by GCCA members as of December 31, 2022. Emergent Cold LatAm was founded in August 2021. Less than two years later, it operates in 11 countries with more than 60 warehouses and more than four million cubic meters of storage capacity. Emergent Cold LatAm accomplished this scale through the completion of 14 acquisitions and seven projects that are now under construction.
Vertical Cold Storage
Vertical Cold Storage, a developer and operator of temperature-controlled distribution centres has entered into an agreement to purchase MWCold, which operates more than 545,000 square feet of warehouse space at two facilities in central Indiana. The MWCold Indianapolis warehouse is a 390,000 sf /10.1 million-cubic-foot multi-modal facility with 33,000 pallet positions and 46 dock doors. It is served by CSX and Norfolk Southern, and has blast freezing, export services and quick thaw. The MWCold Pendleton facility is northeast of Indianapolis, and can handle a variety of temperature zones, including -20°F for ice cream and other frozen products. It is 159,000 sf / 5.3 million cf, with 19,600 pallet positions and has 15 dock doors. Both locations are near five major interstates that intersect Indiana, enabling two day or less service to more than 75 percent of the US and Canadian populations.
Tower Cold Chain
Tower Cold Chain has opened its new headquarters in the Americas region. Located in Philadelphia, the 26,000-square-foot building strengthens Tower’s container conditioning and storage capabilities. Following the success of its Centre of Excellence in the United Kingdom, Tower Cold Chain has replicated this proven model, with its latest facility offering design, laboratory, and testing capabilities in the development of its temperature-controlled solutions. The facility will serve as a hub of innovation and expertise, fostering partnerships, knowledge exchange, and the development of customer-focused solutions to address the evolving challenges in the cold chain logistics industry.
