Bolloré Logistics initially opened the station to serve a single project, but will keep it open due to high demand for transloading services in Prince Rupert.Bolloré Logistics has opened a new container freight station (CFS) in Prince Rupert. The station is 17 km from the port’s container terminal. It includes a 20,000 square foot warehouse and two-acre storage yard. It was initially built to provide container de-stuffing and transloading services for a large industrial project in region, but thanks to high demand, Bolloré is keeping it open for additional customers. Since opening the CFS has handled 600 transloads and roughly 8,000 empty containers. The company says it is developing bonded warehousing and transloading-to-rail services. The CFS can handle retail, industrial and other goods – palletized, crated or loose. The CFS has 3-, 5- and 16-ton forklifts as well as a container reach-stacker to support its operation.
