Dematic will partner with Dot Foods, the largest food industry redistributor in North America, on Dot Food’s first fully automated warehouse. The new 117,000 square-foot facility will be a key strategic asset for Dot Food’s frozen food distribution. Operations will be directed by Dematic technology with an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) to manage inventory of full pallets, along with robotics to pick strategic layers of product for Dot Food customers. Construction will begin in the new year with the facility becoming operational in 2021. Dot Foods operates three facilities in Canada.
Trimble Transportation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held transportation management system (TMS) provider Kuebix. With the acquisition Trimble to bring together its network of private fleet and commercial carrier customers, representing more than 1.3 million commercial trucks in North America, with Kuebix’s community of more than 21,000 shipping companies. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Körber Group has acquired a majority stake in Brazil-based Otimis Ltda. Otimis has been an implementation partner and reseller of the supply chain management solutions of the Körber Logistics company HighJump since 2004. The acquisition became effective December 18, 2019. Under the Körber Logistics umbrella brand, Körber supplies digitized solutions for smart factories (production logistics), warehouses, distribution centres, e-commerce, and the control of entire supply chains. The umbrella brand unites the companies Aberle and Consoveyo (systems integration), Langhammer and Riantics (product solutions), as well as Aberle Software, Cirrus Logistics, Cohesio Group, DMLogic, HighJump, Inconso and Voiteq (software).

Office Depot is streamlining warehouse and delivery operations with TC51 and TC56 touch computers running the Workforce Connect Push to Talk (PTT) voice solution and RS507X ring imagers.
