Who’s on the move: December 14, 2015

Ontario has nominated Thomas Teahen as president of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). When confirmed, Teahen will succeed David Marshall who will begin his new role as special advisor to the Minister of Finance in February 2016. The nomination is subject to review by the Standing Committee on Government Agencies. Teahen has held key government positions, including a role on the WSIB’s senior executive team as chief corporate services officer from 2010 to 2013. Most recently, he has been on secondment from the WSIB as chief of staff to Ontario’s Premier. A labour lawyer by trade, Teahen has experience in labour, employment and administrative law.

Intelligrated appointed Danny Liang to the position of general director for its Shanghai-based Chinese operation. He brings nearly 20 years of material handling experience in China to his new role and reports to Bob Wilson, vice president, international division. After taking a leadership role in establishing Intelligrated’s presence in China, Rod Selby has transitioned to the position of senior operations and solutions consultant, international. Before joining Intelligrated, Liang served in a variety of roles for multinational material handling companies, developing service, operations and sales teams. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai University and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University.

UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) has appointed Ernesto Duran to regional sales manager and Carlos Ricardo Ebel-Fonseca to regional aftermarket manager in Mexico. Duran is responsible for managing sales and dealer networks in Mexico. He has more than 10 years of sales experience. He was previously a sales manager for Ameco and a regional manager for Holcim. Duran earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He currently lives in Mexico City with his wife and two children. As a regional aftermarket manager, Carlos Ricardo Ebel-Fonseca is responsible for parts goals and increasing UCMEX parts sales through dealer network activities. Before joining UCA, Ebel-Fonseca was a parts manager, service manager and an aftermarket manager for Transportes y gruas Auriga. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Instituto Tecnologico de estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Queretaro. He currently lives in Queretaro, Mexico, with his wife and son.
