DHL Express
DHL Express, an international express service provider, has appointed Darryl Wettlaufer as the new CEO of DHL Express Canada. Wettlaufer will report to Andrew Williams, CEO of DHL Express Americas, and will be based in Brampton, Ont.
Wettlaufer brings nearly two decades of experience within DHL Express, having joined the company in 2006 as operations manager in Canada and rising to vice-president of operations, becoming part of the Canadian Management Board in 2014. In this role, he was instrumental in shaping the company’s facility infrastructure roadmap and skillfully led the Canadian operations team during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, Darryl relocated to South Florida to lead DHL Express Americas regional hubs in Miami and Panama, later expanding his responsibilities to include the company’s hub in Atlanta, and most recently, DHL Express’ Hub in Cincinnati, one of three DHL’s global super hub.
Arctic Gateway Group
Arctic Gateway Group (AGG) announced Sheila North will serve as its new community and Indigenous relations advisor.
A nationally recognized leader and advocate, North will help strengthen AGG’s relationships with First Nations and northern communities, ensuring that the growth of the Port of Churchill and Hudson Bay Railway returns real value to the Indigenous and northern owners of AGG.
In her role, she will support clear communication and engagement with communities across northern Manitoba, making sure Indigenous and northern voices guide AGG’s growth, with a focus on making sure Indigenous and northern communities benefit with good jobs, training opportunities and meaningful economic returns.
Metro Supply Chain
Metro Supply Chain, a third-party logistics solutions company, announced the appointment of Dan Peacock as president, contract logistics, and a member of the executive leadership team. Peacock will report directly to Chris Fenton, group president and chief executive officer, Metro Supply Chain, and will be based at the company’s regional office in Mississauga, Ont.
Before joining Metro Supply Chain, Peacock served as managing director and chief operating officer at DHL Supply Chain in the UK and Ireland, amassing over 23 years of leadership experience in the supply chain, third-party logistics and specialist services sectors.
CN
CN announced the appointments of Patrick Whitehead as executive vice-president and chief operating officer as well as Janet Drysdale as executive vice-president and chief commercial officer. Whitehead’s appointment follows the departure of Derek Taylor from the company.
“Janet and Pat are key drivers of CN’s efforts to achieve new levels of operational, commercial and customer service excellence. Their proven cross-functional leadership is instrumental in delivering value for our shareholders and customers. I look forward to working closely with them,” said Tracy Robinson, president and chief executive officer at CN. “I thank Derek for his contributions to the company and wish him the best in the future.”
Prince Rupert Port Authority
The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) announced the retirement of Shaun Stevenson, president and chief executive officer effective Dec. 31. Stevenson has led PRPA as president and CEO since 2018 and has been a contributor to the organization’s success since 1997.
“It has been an honour to lead the Prince Rupert Port Authority and work with such a talented team,” said Stevenson. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together with our partners, including over $3 billion in transformative development currently underway at the gateway. I’m confident the organization is well-positioned to continue its work in building a better Canada by growing trade.”
Groupe Touchette
Groupe Touchette, Canada’s largest tire distributor, announced the appointment of Karina Di Rupo as vice-president, supply chain. Her appointment aims to strengthen Groupe Touchette’s operations and accelerate its growth across Canada.
In her role, Di Rupo will oversee the company’s end-to-end global supply chain, from tire manufacturers and distribution centers worldwide to final delivery to customers across Canada. Her responsibilities include procurement and planning, a coast-to-coast network of distribution, warehouse and storage facilities, kitting operations and management of Groupe Touchette’s fleet and transportation partners.
