Amazon is raising pay for its Canada operations workforce, investing more than $78 million in wage increases. Effective Sept. 27, the average hourly base wage will rise to $26.27, up from $25.27 in 2025, a 4 per cent increase. The company says this means a full‑time employee working 40 hours per week would earn more than $54,000 per year on average.
Amazon says the increase continues its annual wage growth across its Canadian operations network. Under the company’s step plan, eligible hourly employees receive scheduled pay increases every six months until their 24‑month anniversary, with another increase at month 36.
Starting October 1, eligible employees, including full‑time, part‑time, seasonal and corporate, will receive 10 per cent off online grocery and daily essentials purchases on Amazon.ca with no cap on savings.
The pay increase and new discount add to Amazon’s existing benefits for Canadian employees. Full‑time operations employees receive extended health, dental and vision coverage from day one, an RRSP with employer match, mental‑health resources, free Prime memberships after 90 days, and access to the Career Choice program, which pre‑pays tuition for certificate and diploma programs. More than 13,500 employees in Canada have taken part in Career Choice since 2014.
