Fastfrate has opened a new warehouse in Halifax. An official opening was held on December 6, 2023. The additional 70,000 square feet of warehouse space expands the company’s capacity there to 130,000 square feet. The warehouse employs 120, offering services that includes intermodal LTL and FTL, drayage, transloading, logistics,
cross-border, warehousing, pick and pack, e-commerce, and distribution.
Legacy Supply Chain has opened a 141,000-square-foot omni-channel fulfillment warehouse located in Vaughan, Ontario, within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This new facility, Legacy’s fourth in the GTA, is part of the 3PL’s US and Canada fulfillment network, with additional locations in the Indianapolis, Indiana, and Reno, Nevada, markets.
Carrousel Packaging has opened a new warehouse in Ottawa. This 63,500-square-foot warehouse adds to four warehouses in Quebec (Boucherville, Québec, Boisbriand, and Drummondville) for a total of 380,000 square feet. Founded in 1971, Carrousel Packaging, whose head office is located in Boucherville, is an independent distributor of packaging solutions.
Vertical Cold Storage, a developer and operator of temperature-controlled distribution centres has broken ground on its Kansas City, Missouri, multi-modal distribution site. The facility is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2024 and employ up to 130 full-time staff. The site, located adjacent to the CPKC intermodal terminal in south Kansas City, will have 300,000 square feet, 50,000 pallet positions, blast freezing technology and four rooms convertible to -20° F. The building design and construction utilize innovative materials and systems that reduce energy consumption.
Global logistics provider GEODIS has opened its new 5,500 square metre (59,000 square foot) site at Schiphol airport in The Netherlands. This new location is next to the existing site and will expand the company’s footprint in pharma and healthcare. The new location is TAPA-A rated for air freight and holds the CEIV Pharma certification for handling goods in the 15-25 °C and 2-8 °C ranges.
