Mullen Group has closed the sale of an operating terminal and associated lands consisting of 4.5 acres in Surrey, British Columbia. Tenold Transportation Ltd. currently operates out of the terminal, however, it will be moving to a more fit for purpose facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
Forager Real Estate Partners, a Toronto-based private equity real estate developer and asset manager has partnered with third-party logistics provider Sherway Group to plan and construct an approximate 165,000 square foot Class A industrial logistics facility in Guelph, Ontario. In addition, a Sherway affiliate has entered into a long-term, fully net lease with the artnership to occupy 100 percent of the facility on completion. The partners acquired the development lands located at 426 Clair Road West, Guelph, in the third quarter of 2022.
CEVA Logistics recently opened a new multi-client, 15,000-square-metre warehouse in Bogota, Colombia. The new facility is the first carbon-neutral CEVA warehouse in the country and consolidates the operations of three former sites in Colombia, while also adding space for new customers. The facility has earned EDGE certification for its use of energy and water saving initiatives, including water recycling, solar panels and photocatalytic paint, as well as its broader recycling initiatives. The DC will serve existing technology, industrial and automotive clients, along with new customers, including an international automaker, whose spare parts operation will occupy roughly one third of the total space. The new site employs 150.
Ryder System, Inc. is opening a new multiclient distribution centre located in North Aurora, Illinois, in early January. It will primarily serve shippers of consumer-packaged goods, including food and beverage, health and beauty, and household products, as well as general retail merchandise. The nearly 550,000-square-foot facility will have 54 cross-dock positions, 162 trailer stalls, access to area railroad ramps, ambient temperature controls, and food-grade certification. The company also plans to recruit for approximately 100 positions to support the warehouse operations. The new facility joins Ryder’s network of nine multiclient and eight dedicated-customer warehouses located in the greater Chicago area as part of the company’s acquisition of Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System late last year.
