GFI

Global Food and Ingredients Ltd. (GFI) is opening its first distribution centre in the US, located in Clayton, North Carolina, near Raleigh. The DC will provide truckload and less-than-truckload wholesale ingredients distribution while also acting as a fulfillment centre for GFI’s consumer products portfolio. It is approximately 17,500-square-feet in area and will also house future processing lines to complement its fulfillment functions. GFI’s North Carolina sales office will be moved to the new Clayton location. GFI is Toronto-based and has been operating in North Carolina since April 2020 where it established its US headquarters under the name North Lily Foods, Inc.

Wills Transfer

Wills Transfer is opening a new multipurpose DC in Ingleside, Ontario, in January 2023. Close to the 401 highway, it is in close proximity to Montreal and Ottawa. The new facility covers 155,000 square feet with 14 dock doors, and includes both racked and bulk storage areas. The 32-foot clear building is secured and climate controlled.

Realterm

Realterm has bought a 66,504-square-foot final mile warehouse in Fairview, N.J. The high flow through (HFT) warehouse has 10 dock-high doors on 4.7 acres and is close  to Manhattan and the broader New Jersey market. It offers access to approximately 10.3 million people within a 15-mile radius as well as access to two intermodal terminals.

Tower Cold Chain

Pharmaceutical temperature-controlled storage provider Tower Cold Chain has opened a new hub in Chicago, Illinois. It is the company’s sixth new hub this year, alongside expansions in Brussels and Frankfurt. Each new centre provides passive temperature-controlled containers, which maintain temperatures from <- 80°C using dry ice to +25°C, for 120+ hours.

Omni Logistics

Omni Logistics has opened a new warehouse and cross-dock facility near Los Angeles. It is located near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with access to major highways. It has 42 dock doors, 10,000+ pallet positions and spans 251,606 square feet. Capabilities include support for imports, exports, drayage, linehaul, cross-dock, transloads, time critical transportation, white glove delivery, freight forwarding and warehousing and distribution. The facility can support local pickup and delivery options with Omni Logistics’ fleet of vans, straight trucks and box trucks. The facility is ISO9001:2015 registered and CTPAT certified.
