Kardex launches PortScale solution at MODEX 2026

Intralogistics specialist Kardex has launched a new weight-based verification solution designed to improve inventory accuracy and speed in automated warehouse environments.

The company unveiled its PortScale system at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta, describing it as a high-precision tool that measures weight changes during picking and put-away processes. The system integrates with AutoStore and Kardex’s Intuitive Picking Assistant to help detect errors in real time and streamline workflows.

PortScale is part of the Kardex AutoStore SmartWorkStation, which combines technologies such as barcode scanning, computer vision and data capture to support picking operations. Using multiple sensors, the system captures weight data in real time and provides information on item count and location to warehouse management systems.

Kardex says the technology can help identify picking errors immediately, support cycle counting, detect double picks and reduce shrinkage, making it suited for high-throughput warehouse environments.

The company also highlighted its broader AutoStore-focused portfolio at the trade show, including the Kardex ONE software platform, designed to integrate warehouse applications and provide operational insights.

In addition, Kardex showcased its BinInductAI system, an AI-driven bin induction solution that the company says can reduce AutoStore installation time by up to 30 per cent while improving consistency and reducing manual steps.
