Rockwell Automation has introduced FactoryTalk Orchestration software, a new platform designed to coordinate material flow and production processes across industrial operations.
The company said the software connects automated equipment with enterprise and plant systems using real-time production signals, supporting its production logistics strategy. Built on the FactoryTalk Optix platform, the solution standardizes connectivity across Rockwell’s portfolio, including OTTO autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), with additional ecosystem integrations planned.
“As manufacturers continue investing in automation and robotics, the opportunity is shifting from deploying individual technologies to coordinating them across the operation,” said Ara Surenian, production logistics business manager at Rockwell Automation. “FactoryTalk Orchestration software is designed to help manufacturers move from fragmented automation toward more connected, autonomous operations.”
Rockwell said the system is intended to improve throughput, reduce bottlenecks and simplify operations by coordinating machines, material handling and production processes in real time.
The company cited results from its Twinsburg, Ohio facility, where the software enabled autonomous operations across key production processes, improving drop-off zone space utilization by 70 per cent and reducing overall material handling space requirements by 50 per cent.
Rockwell said the platform is now being expanded to additional manufacturing facilities globally.
