Huawei has launched its Intelligent RAIL 2.0 platform, a new suite of digital and AI-enabled solutions designed to support railway operations, freight transportation, infrastructure construction and maintenance. The announcement was made at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, one of the world’s largest rail transportation exhibitions.
According to the company, Intelligent RAIL 2.0 includes 20 scenario-based solutions focused on three areas: construction, passenger and freight transportation, and facility and equipment maintenance. The platform is intended to help rail operators address operational challenges through digital and intelligent technologies.
In a keynote address, Raymond Zuo, president of Huawei’s Smart Rail business unit, said the rail industry is moving toward technologies such as predictive maintenance, end-to-end multimodal freight services and digital construction processes. He said the company’s Intelligent RAIL strategy is designed to improve railway safety, operational efficiency, integrated services and long-term system development.
The launch event also featured representatives from the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), who discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence and next-generation railway communications standards in rail operations.
Huawei said it has worked with more than 50 major railway customers and over 300 urban rail lines worldwide, covering more than 180,000 kilometres of track.
