Young Logistics Professionals Award
Andre Hein Gerber is the Young Logistics Professional 2023 Global Winner. Gerber represented the Africa and Middle East region in the competition and comes from the South African Association of Freight Forwarders, South Africa. His dissertation focused on the import of a hydrogen desulphurization reactor and the export of an entire sweet factory. The annual award is presented by FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, and TT Club. It was presented at the 2023 FIATA World Congress in Brussels, Belgium.
CSCMP
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) awarded the 2023 Teaching Innovation Award to Michael Haughton, Wilfrid Laurier University, for the submission: Consultants’ success story case studies and post-secondary SCM/logistics Pedagogy, during CSCMP’s Academic Research Symposium on October 1, 2023, in Kissimmee, Florida. The award recognizes the submission with the largest impact on students and instruction within the field of supply chain and logistics.
CSCMP also presented the Bernard J. LaLonde Best Paper Award to Ellie C. Falcone, Brian S. Fugate, & David D. Dobrzykowski, from Texas Christian University and Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, for their paper: Supply Chain Plasticity During a Global Disruption: Effects of CEO and Supply Chain Networks on Operational Repurposing at the symposium.
OPEX Corporation
OPEX Corporation has won a Gold 2023 Merit Award for technology in the category of Robotics for the company’s Infinity automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS). Infinity’s iBOT wireless robotic vehicles travel under the storage structure and pass through the aisles, minimizing distance and saving time. Judged by industry executives, Merit Awards staff, members of the media and consultants, the Merit Awards recognize global industries and the markets they serve.
Cargojet
Cargojet Inc. has recertified its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard Accreditation, for the twenty-first consecutive year. Cargojet is the only air cargo carrier in Canada with this accreditation.
