CEVA Logistics to acquire project logistics firm Fagioli Group

CEVA Logistics says it has signed an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of Fagioli Group, a move that would significantly expand its project logistics capabilities if approved by regulators.

The company said the acquisition would allow CEVA to offer end-to-end project logistics services, from early-stage engineering and design through to transport, delivery and installation. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Fagioli Group, which reported 2024 revenue of 216 million euros, specializes in heavy hauling, lifting and hoisting for complex industrial projects. The company is owned by private equity firm QuattroR and the family of longtime chairman Alessandro Fagioli.

CEVA said it would add about 450 Fagioli employees to its workforce, including more than 40 specialized engineers, strengthening its global project logistics operations across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.

“Everyone who works in project logistics knows Fagioli. Their worldwide reputation and strong company values were a major factor in our decision making,” said Mathieu Friedberg, CEO, CEVA Logistics. “Adding their technical expertise to the CEVA team, as part of the broader CMA CGM Group, would be a significant boost for our project logistics business in offering state-of-the-art, end-to-end solutions for our customers.”

Fernando Bertoni, CEO of Fagioli Group, said the deal would accelerate the company’s long-term growth by expanding its global reach and access to capital.

“The arrival of CEVA Logistics would provide Fagioli with superior access-to-market capabilities, a capillary presence and local know-how in each key market around the world, as well as the necessary financial support to accelerate Fagioli’s long-term growth,” Bertoni said.

CEVA said the transaction aligns with its recent acquisition strategy, following last month’s purchase of Borusan Lojistik in Turkey and earlier deals involving GEFCO and Bolloré Logistics.
