Who’s on the move: December 2, 2019

Carl Fowler has joined Transportation Insight as chief commercial officer. Reporting directly to CEO Rennie Faulkner, Fowler will lead Transportation Insight’s commercial operation, which includes client development, client solutions, solutions engineering, marketing, client services, implementations, supply chain analytics, and parcel solutions. Fowler joins Transportation Insight after serving as senior vice-president of business development for Americold Logistics. Before joining Americold, Fowler spent 15 years with Menlo Worldwide Logistics where he held a variety of roles, including global vice-president of sales and solutions.

Arshad Matin

Avetta, a cloud-based supply chain risk management provider, has appointed Arshad Matin as president and CEO. Matin will also become a member of the company’s board of directors. He succeeds John Herr, who is stepping down as CEO. Herr will serve as a strategic advisor to the Board. Matin recently served as president, CEO and board member of Paradigm Ltd., a  developer of software solutions to the global oil and gas industry. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at companies including IHS Markit, Seismic Micro-Technology, Inc., Symantec Corporation and BindView Corporation. He started his career as a software developer for Mentor Graphics Corporation. He has an MBA and a Master of Science in computer engineering.

Ralph Eberhart

General Ralph E. “Ed” Eberhart succeeds Calvin Koonce as non-executive chairman of VSE Corporation. Koonce continues to serve on the VSE Board. Eberhart entered the Air Force in 1968 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. His active military career spanned more than 36 years. his final active duty assignment was as the commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). He currently serves as president and chairman of the Armed Forces Benefit Association. Eberhart has served as a Director of VSE Corporation since 2007, and was a director of Rockwell Collins, Inc. until its recent acquisition. He is also a member of the board of directors of Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. and Triumph Group.
