Flex has named Lynn Torrel chief supply chain and procurement officer, responsible for direct and indirect materials, transportation and logistics, business operations, materials management, and strategic supply chain management. With 25 years of experience, Torrel joins Flex from Avnet where she was president, Avnet United and Velocity. She joined Avnet through its acquisition of EBV Elektronik (Munich) in 2001, where she served as manager of corporate accounts and logistics. Torrel earned her MBA from Arizona State University. She serves as a board member for the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) and Courtney’s Place and was chair-elect for the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA).
Eric Allard is the new director of sales for Ontario with Delmar International. Allard’s past roles include senior airfreight leadership positions with leading multi-national logistics organizations. Most recently, he was global head of logistics for Husky Injection Molding Systems, managing major transportation and supply chain activities. Additionally, he is a member of several industry related Board of Directors and holds a Supply Chain Management Graduate Degree from HEC Montreal.
With Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WW) Solutions’s COO Ray Fitzgerald turning his attention to other life pursuits, Mike Hynekamp, WW Ocean’s COO, has stepped into the role. Hynekamp’s automotive industry background and the breadth of his experience across the inland and ocean business give him an excellent understanding of the vehicle supply chain. He has played a crucial role in the development of WW Ocean’s One Operation Project around vessel digitization. The WW Solutions COO role will remain in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Imperial Logistics International has appointed Hugo Pluess as its new CIO, based in Zurich, Switzerland. Pluess is a senior IT executive with over 30 years of international experience. His past positions include VP global distributed computing services at NCR Corporation in the U.S.; CIO at NCR Switzerland; global head of enterprise computing services at Roche Pharmaceuticals in Switzerland; and most recently, EVP global IT infrastructure at CEVA Logistics, also in Switzerland.
