GEODIS opening major logistics facility in Ajax

The Town of Ajax is welcoming global transportation and logistics company GEODIS, which is opening a new distribution facility at the Lakeridge Logistics Centre.

The company has signed a five-year lease for approximately 470,000 square feet at 537 Kingston Rd. E. The facility will operate as a logistics and warehousing hub for Milwaukee Tool and is expected to create about 100 full-time jobs, along with additional contract and seasonal positions.

The Lakeridge Logistics Centre is one of the largest industrial developments in Ontario, totalling 1.2 million square feet, with the remaining space still available for lease.

“On behalf of Ajax Council, I want to express our excitement that GEODIS has chosen to invest in Ajax,” said Shaun Collier, mayor and CEO of the Town of Ajax. “Operating in 166 countries with nearly 50,000 employees across more than 1,000 sites worldwide, GEODIS is a major addition to Ajax’s growing industrial and employment base. This investment reinforces Ajax’s position as a strategic location for logistics and distribution, and we look forward to the economic benefits and job opportunities this project will bring to our community.”

“Ajax is an exciting milestone for us — our first location in the community, adding to our growing footprint across the Durham Region,” said Bahi Kamalanathan, Senior Director Operations, GEODIS. “As a third-party logistics provider, we serve a wide range of clients across industries, and this new facility gives us the infrastructure and location to do that at scale. Milwaukee Tool is a great example of the kind of partnership we build, and we look forward to growing our presence here and being a strong employer in this community for years to come.”

Operations at the facility are expected to begin at the end of May 2027.
