HOUSTON, Texas—Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA), a leading manufacturer of forklifts under the Cat lift trucks, Mitsubishi forklift trucks and Jungheinrich brands, is celebrating its 24th anniversary.
Founded July 1, 1992, MCFA has grown over the years, expanding its Houston-based manufacturing facilities and lift truck brand portfolio to drive improved customer support throughout North, Central and South America.
“This month, MCFA celebrates 24 continuous years of customer service and support in the material handling industry,” said Ken Barina, president of MCFA. “MCFA is appreciative of our loyal customers, dedicated dealers and devoted employees for making this milestone possible. We look forward to serving our valued customers for many years to come.”
When the company formed, MCFA employed 245 people at its 172,000 sq. ft. facility in Houston. Today, including subsidiaries, MCFA employs more than 1,200 people, and its facility spans more than 830,000 sq. ft.
Over the past 24 years, MCFA has made several advances in its mission to be a leading manufacturer of forklifts, including:
* Opening of a new electric assembly facility on MCFA’s Houston manufacturing campus
* Localizing production of Cat lift trucks and Mitsubishi forklift trucks 6-16 ton internal combustion models to Houston
* The addition of Jungheinrich-branded warehouse products to MCFA’s existing Cat lift trucks and Mitsubishi forklift trucks product lines – providing customers with access to all five classes of lift trucks through MCFA’s dealer network
