Lithium-ion powered reach truck

HOUSTON – The Jungheinrich ETV216i – which the manufacturer claims is the worlds’ first reach truck with fully integrated lithium-ion battery – is now available for the North American market.
The lithium-ion battery offers a longer service life, maintenance-free operation, and 24/7 truck availability with opportunity charging, the company asserts.
With lithium ion, the battery is smaller, creating more space in the operator compartment. In addition to short charging times and increased energy efficiency, the ETV 216i has 23 percent faster lift speeds than the previous generation of Jungheinrich lead-acid models.
“We’re excited to introduce the latest innovation in Lithium-Ion technology to the North American market,” said John Sneddon, vice-president of sales and marketing at MCFA.
“The new Jungheinrich ETV 216i moving mast reach truck demonstrates Jungheinrich’s commitment to innovation.”
The ETV 216i was named as the 2019 IFOY Award winner for most innovative product in the Warehouse Truck category.
The ETV 216i has a maximum load capacity of 3,500 pounds and a maximum lift height of 421 inches. The truck is 95.2 inches long. It can travel up to 8.7 mph and incorporates a 360 Ah battery at 51.2 volts.
