Ryder appoints Steve Sensing president, Global Supply Chain Solutions

MIAMI, Fla.– Ryder has announced the appointment of Steve Sensing as President of Global Supply Chain Solutions (SCS).  Sensing’s appointment will take effect on March 31, 2015 concurrent with the retirement of Ryder’s Global Supply Chain Solutions President John Williford, which was announced in August of 2014.

As previously disclosed, following Williford’s retirement, the Company will align the SCS organization into two separate reporting segments to increase the focus on the industry groups served within SCS and elevate the profile of the Ryder Dedicated product line. In August 2014, it was announced that the dedicated services business would be led by John J. Diez in the new role of President of Ryder Dedicated, reporting directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert E. Sanchez.

The appointment confirms that all other supply chain business will be consolidated under the leadership of Sensing in his new role as President of Global Supply Chain Solutions, also reporting directly to  Sanchez. In his new role,  Sensing will be responsible for management, operations, sales, and the financial performance of Ryder’s SCS business segment.

Prior to his new role at Ryder,  Sensing was the Vice President and General Manager of the High-Technology industry group for the SCS business segment of Ryder. In this role, he served customers in the electronics, telecommunications, medical, technology, appliance manufacturing and retail industries. His responsibilities included strategic planning, developing new products and services, and leading tactical execution for global operations.
