Planet Paper buys TRICOR POP

TORONTO, Ontario—Planet Paper Group of Concord, Ontario, has acquired TRICOR POP , based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Planet Paper Group, a family owned company, has three locations across Canada and employs over 300 people. The company is a nationwide packaging products, display and fulfillment service provider to CPG and consumer products manufacturers, with paper converting facilities in several current locations.

“This is a real game changer for the Planet Group of Companies,” said Jason Berns, group president. “Overnight this gives us a major presence for all of our business segments in the Midwest and Northeast, and soon the other parts of the US, giving us a full national footprint. This is a huge step for everyone at Planet Group. It makes us North American in every way.

This Acquisition expands Planet Group’s service to US markets and enhances end-to-end display, packaging and merchandising solutions. The family-owned business will operate as Planet Display & Packaging Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The group designs and manufactures corrugated and permanent displays for the retail industry and offers fulfillment and distribution services.

The combined companies’ packaging offerings and fulfillment capabilities expand Planet Group’s footprint and will improve its ability to provide North American customers with end-to-end merchandising solutions. Tricor uses market research and an integrated merchandising model to provide customers with value-added insight and end-to-end solutions.

Both companies serve retailers and consumer packaged goods customers in pharmaceuticals, health & beauty, electronics, stationery, food, beverage, consumer product, household and personal care segments.
